Hello Year 5!
Welcome to our 'Remote Learning' page!
This is the place to come to check out the lessons I have ready for you, and to find information about planned Zoom meetings. Also, further down, you'll find additional resources to support your online learning.
THE DAILY PLAN: (Monday to Friday)
11:15am: Daily 'Zoom' Registration
Also includes, 'Plan for the Day'.
2.15pm - End of the day 'Zoom'
Catch-up / Story / Game etc.
Middle of the Day:
- Complete your daily English and Maths tasks
- Complete any additional tasks linked to other subjects
- Practise your weekly spellings. I would like you to send me your spelling test scores on Friday please.
- Check out the additional learning links lower down this page.
Also, remember that you need to send me evidence that you have completed the tasks. Use the Class Dojo Portfolio on your pupil account to upload photos, drawings, text files etc.
Adults: You can access your child's account using your app and changing to your child's avatar in the drop-down menu.

This week's learning tasks, links & help videos (if needed):
Today, you are going to write some fantastic show not tell sentences that you might like to include in your diary entry. Try to link each sentence to an example in the book.
In our Zoom call, we will be asking Fred to sit in the hot-seat and looking at our multiplication questions.
In the afternoon, I would like you to complete the comparing regions task.
For English today, you are going to be busy identifying the features of a diary entry. Use the PowerPoint slides to help you.
In the afternoon, I would like you to complete the Science task about day and night.
We will continue to look at division in Maths today. We will discuss this in our Zoom call.
Your English work will help you to plan your diary entry.
In the afternoon, we have Art. I would like you to complete the work about Vincent van Gogh in your packs.
Today, we will be busy writing our diary entries. I am looking forward to reading them already!
I would like you to get creative in the afternoon and make either a model or a collage of a famous European landmark. Don't forget to upload your pictures into your portfolio.
We will finish off this week by editing our English work and our final piece of work on multiplication and division. Next week, we will be learning about fractions.
