Monday

Excellent English

Complete the learning activities and phonics lessons on the 'What are my tasks today button (Nursery phase 1, Reception Phase 3).

Today we will be finding out about the Moon. Where is it? What does it look like? Does anyone live there? We will have a look at a clip from a real moon landing. If we went to the Moon, we could write a postcard home to Earth. What is a postcard? What are the features of a postcard? We will plan and write our postcard home using sentence stems and short sentences.

Guided reading this week will use the book, 'Picnic on Windmill Rock'. Click on the Guided Reading button to find out what to do today.

Stuck for something to do?

Each day now has an extra independent activity to challenge you!

Tuesday

Marvellous Maths

Complete the learning activities and phonics lessons on the'What are my tasks today' button (Nursery phase 1, Reception Phase 3).

Today we will be starting our learning on capacity and exploring the new words 'full' and 'not full' with Concept Cat. We will be using these words to describe capacity using real cups and water. We will extend our learning to look at different ways we can describe how much water our cups have in them and then label our cups with the correct words. We will also transfer our new understanding to colour in the correct amount of water in cup drawings to match their labels.

For tomorrow's learning: Please find three interesting moon facts to share!

Guided reading this week will use the book, 'Picnic on Windmill Rock'. Click on the Guided Reading button to find out what to do today.

Wednesday

Excellent English

Complete the learning activities and phonics lessons on the'What are my tasks today' button (Nursery phase 1, Reception Phase 3).

Today we are going talk about the interesting facts we have discovered about the moon and make a list to share of all the information we have found. We will be comparing the Earth and the Moon to see what is the same and what is different between them. We will practise writing a statement in a chart to record some of our ideas before you complete the chart on your own.

Thursday

Marvellous Maths

Complete the learning activities and phonics lessons on the'What are my tasks today' button (Nursery phase 1, Reception Phase 3).

Today we are looking at problem solving using capacity. I want to water the flowers in my garden, but I do not want to make lots of trips to the tap. I have 4 containers and a cup and I need to find out which container contains the most water. Can you help me solve my problem? Can we put the containers in order to see which one holds the most? Then you can have fun doing the activity at home!

Guided reading this week will use the book, 'Picnic on Windmill Rock'. Click on the Guided Reading button to find out what to do today.

Friday

There will be no zoom calls today.

Complete the learning activities and phonics lessons on the'What are my tasks today' button (Nursery phase 1, Reception Phase 3).

Being Imaginative

Today, you are going to make your own Space Station Mission Control in your house. There are lots of resources here to use and some links in the 'What are my tasks today' sheet to give you inspiration. Can you write out some tickets? Use the take-off checklist? Write a visit report or make some astronaut badges?

IPersonal, Social and Emotional Development

When we feel worried or overwhelmed it is sometimes useful to focus on the little things that make us happy. Take some time to think about what makes you happy and draw yourself doing something enjoy.

Weather can match our mood. Draw which type of weather matches the different emotions in the ‘Catch the Rain and Dance in the Storm’ page together. Would everyone in your family choose the same weather as you for each mood?

Physical Development

Have a go at some ‘Cosmic’ yoga in space! The links are on the 'What are my tasks' today button.
