In English our main text will be Grandad's Island by Benji Davies.
You can listen to the story here.
We will be using this story as we continue to focus on using capital letters, full stops, question marks and exclamation marks. We will also be developing our ability to leave finger spaces, use our phonetic knowledge and form a neat cursive handwriting style.
This story will allow us to practise describing characters and places, using adjectives and connectives to add interest to our sentences.
In maths we will be studying addition and subtraction using numbers to 20 and beyond.
We will be exploring number bonds to 10, finding fact families and systematic ways to find number bonds within 10.
We will also be learning about 2D and 3D shapes and measuring, weight and height.
Cross curricular work will mean that we are also looking at ordering events and using vocabulary related to time, such as days of the week.
Topic & Science
Our topic is all about Nantwich. We will all become 'Nutty about Nantwich!'
We will be learning all about the different types of buildings in Nantwich and what they are used for. We will be visiting St Mary's church and learning about local history.
In Science we will be learning all about Plants, including different types of trees.
We will also be thinking about how the seasons have changed and be looking for signs of Winter and Spring.
