For our final half term in Year 5, we will finish our fabulous book, The Explorer. Will Fred, Con, Max and Lila leave the jungle and return to their families? Will they ever meet at The Ritz and have one of every cake they offer like they had planned to?
We will also be working on some pieces of writing ready for transition to Year 6.
For the final half term of Year 5, we will be using a protractor for the first time to measure angles. We will be calculating missing angles on a straight line and around a point. I am sure that this will be a unit that we really enjoy.
We will also spend time working on our basic skills so that we are ready for the challenge of Year 6.
We will continue our learning about the Maya this half term. We have learnt so much already and there is still so much to learn! We will be designing and making our own Mayan headdresses and learning about Mayan beliefs. Finally, we will find out what happened to the Mayan Civilisation as well as considering the Mayan culture and traditions that still exist today.
